Welcome to HESA 2021 Elections!



The 'Call for Applications' process for all HESA Leadership Board positions has concluded for this election cycle. 



Applications for Director positions and Treasurer, on the 2021-22 Harvard Extension Student Association (HESA) Board has concluded. 

We appreciate all applicants who sought out this distinctive leadership opportunity to represent Harvard Extension School students from all programs and across the globe. Please continue to participate in HESA events and activities in the future.


The HESA Constitution, found on the HESA website, includes a general description of each elected position.

The application period for HESA President and Vice President ended on Friday, April 9, at 12:00 p.m. (EDT). The application period for HESA Directors and Treasurer ended on Wednesday, April 28, at 12:00 p.m. (EDT).

Once candidates are confirmed by the Dean of Students Office (DSO) to meet eligibility criteria, they must be available to meet with a member of the DSO (via Zoom) to discuss any questions and/or concerns they may have regarding their candidacy, campaigning rules, etc.  These meetings will take place via Zoom and are expected to last no more than 20-minutes. Applicants are not permitted to campaign prior to receiving DSO approval.

Before completing the Call for Applications form, be prepared to submit:

  • A Statement of Purpose (no more than 300 words)
  • A headshot (minimum 400 x 400 pixels)
  • A current resume
  • A copy of your current unofficial transcript
  • A link to a 2-minute (or less) video wherein you introduce yourself and address the following:
    • Why are you running?
    • What has been your biggest contribution to the HES community beyond the classroom?
    • What leadership strengths and skills do you bring to the role?
    • If elected, what is the top goal you hope to accomplish during your term?

To submit an application, eligible students must use the 'Call for Applications' form link included in the March 24 and March 31 email announcements from the Dean of Students Office. If you did not receive an email announcement as a current admitted degree candidate, please contact Mark Addison in the DSO (see below for contact information).
